Backyard Artist Date- December 2014

We've had snow and ice and rain and cold these final autumn days. Today there is melt and thaw, and so I wandered the field looking for signs of life. What I found were evergreens. Glorious, sturdy, vibrant evergreens. In the darkness and grey and dimly lit days, there is still green. And even the winter angle of the Earth cannot thwart it. Solstice is almost here.

Mmm, lovely. Thank goodness for evergreens, or this would be a gray time of year, indeed.
